Scriptures to turn to during hard times

Summer, Summer, Summertime is here and if you are anything like me then you just trying to live your best life. Is it just me or does it seem like when you out here doing just that, here comes all the problems? The saying when it rain it pours becomes life. Insert face palm emoji... This is my life right now Sis. One thing after another is just pouring into my life and as the rain floods gradually above my head I can feel the life leaving my body. I almost gave up! But, I caught a glimpse of my reflection as the water started to subside and I remembered who I am and whose I am. I had to get a lil reality check. "First. Of. All. Chile. What you stressing for?" "Sis, you forgot who your dad is?" "Chill out, He got you!" These were some of the words I uttered to myself. When I got my mind right I realized this lil storm aint got NOTHING on my God. God made me some promises and when He makes promises He doesn't break them. I had to check myself by turning to His word. For anyone going through a storm I can promise you one thing, it won't last forever. The sun will shine again. You cannot sink as the rain floods, you betta emerse from that water knowing who you are. How tho? I'm glad you asked that. Here are 10 scriptures to turn to when the rain starts to fall in your life.

10 Scriptures to turn to during your storm.

1. Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”

This scripture is one of my favorites. It assures me that EVERYTHING not just the things I see as good are working for good in my life. You don't know what that thing that's unpleasant in your life is preparing you for.”

2. James 1: 2-3

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3. knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”

Go through those trials with JOY. This is just a test of your faith and it is producing perfection in you. Go through, get through with joy because you know God got you.”

3. Nahum 1:7

“The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him.”

The Lord is Good. When trouble comes He's got that handled. The question is do you trust HIM?

4. Galatians 6:9

”And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

I know it feels like you are doing just what you are supposed to, but you can't catch a break. Do not give up, don't grow weary. Your time is coming, so keep going Sis. God is watching and taking all of that into account.

5. John 16:33 (B)

”In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Hey Sis, you are gonna face some trials, you are even gonna have some tribulations, but Jesus said to have cheer. He has already overcome all that we go through. Yeah you are going through now, but what better hope to have than to know Jesus has already claimed the victory.

6. Hebrews 13:5

”Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

God promised to never leave nor forsake us. You are never alone, even at your loneliest moments He's there right by your side.

7. Proverbs 3:5-6

”Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,And He shall direct your paths.”

Most times after going through our storms we realize that we are here because we leaned to our own understanding. We tried to figure things out and didn't trust God to do it. We gotta trust that God knows what He's doing and even in the face of trials we have to trust Him.

8. Isaiah 40:31

”But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.”

Wait on the Lord. When the trials come, because you know they are coming, wait on Him! If you move too fast you'll lose all your strength trying to react when God can and will give you everlasting strength if you just wait on Him.

9. Phillipians 4: 6-7

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Baby this the one right here. My constant reminder. Stop stressing Sis. Sis is me, I am Sis. Send EVERYTHING to God in prayer and the peace that He gives will surpass all understanding. Girl it won't even matter what is going on because God will give you will PEACE!

10. Exodus 14:14

”The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

All you have to do is be still and let God fight for you. Be still, have peace and watch how God take you through this! He's never loss a fight!

Life can bring many ups and downs. The storms of life can come and you feel like there will never be a break in the sky, but I am here to encourage you that the storm doesn't last forever. When the storms begin to rage turn to the Lord and these scriptures for refuge. Don't drown, YOU GOT THIS, because God has you!
