The Only Way

Listen up! Y’all know I be preaching about being yourself. I’m so tired of us seeing these unrealistic lives on social media and television and basing our goals and lives on that fake stuff. Let’s stop it! It's ok to be you Sis, infact it's the only way.

The reason I am so passionate about this subject is because for so long I pretended to be like others. I was afraid of who I was and it was comfortable to put on and just be like somebody else. I mean I really sold it too. Took on their look, their thoughts and characteristics too. Loss my whole self putting on an act, but don't worry she’s back. God crafted each and every one of us to His liking. He was pleased with the outcome so why wasn't I? I know He took His time when He made me. I’m just mad I ain't see myself properly sooner. I hope you taking notes, don't be like my former self. Look in the mirror and realize who that amazing person is starring back. She is YOU and you are HER! More importantly she is enough! You gotta believe it tho Sis.

That was my problem, people closest to me saw the "real” me and ensured me of my beauty and awesomeness, but when I looked at myself I didn't like what reflected back. I felt like those people had to tell me those things. I mean how ya mama gone tell you, you ugly when you look just like her? So instead of listening to my people I believed the distorted image that looked back at me. Everything begins with mindset, so if your mind is made up that you aint it, you won't think you are, no matter what ANYBODY tells you. The process isn't easy but it is so worth it. No matter what anyone tells you, you must believe you are enough! If I see how dope you are it means nothing if you don't see it.

I gained confidence in myself because I was tired of putting on a front. Once I saw what my mama always saw, that was it. Now I can walk into rooms and work it with no problem because it’s really me and not a fraud showing up. It’s time for you to stop sleeping on yourself and realize who you are. You are everything God wanted you to be so be you Sis, it’s the only way!
